Lorraine Brunson, 94, of Inverness, FL passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family by her side on December 23, 2020. She was born to the late Emil and Nina (Boyer) Heinz and was later lovingly adopted by the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Riley of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was a school bus monitor for the Orange County School System for many years. She made Citrus County her home in 2008 after moving from Orlando, FL. Lorraine, most known as Rainey, enjoyed attending Fort Cooper Baptist Church of Floral City and she was Christian by faith. She will be remembered for her avid love of reading and making people laugh. She is lovingly described as a comedian, always looking for a way to put a smile on someone’s face. She loved talking on the phone to her friends and family and watching Gunsmoke and Billy Graham on TV. Her family remembers her as an “angel on Earth” and “the life of the party”. She was a cowgirl at heart and she loved to play the piano. Rainey will be remembered for many great things—but most of all, she will be remembered for her radiant, loving glow that she had about her and being a remarkable mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. She was preceded in death by her son, Kerry Brunson a.k.a. “Birdie”. Those left to cherish Rainey’s memory are her children, Patrick Brunson of Orlando, FL, Riley Brunson of Inverness, FL, Daniel Brunson (Sandy) of Floral City, FL, Timothy Brunson of Inverness, FL, and Tamera Criddle of Noblesville, IN; her adored 10 grandchildren; and her 10 cherished great-grandchildren. Arrangements for Rainey are private and Cremation with Care is under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
