Mary K. Gibson of Floral City, FL passed away at her home while surrounded by her loving family on December 12, 2020 at the age of 88. Mary was born in Manhattan, NY to the late Howard Charles and Mary (Karling) Kiehn on December 14, 1931. She was responsible for starting the first non-profit daycare facility in New York in the early 1970’s when she saw a need for working women entering the workforce. Mary remained the director of that facility for over 8 years. She relocated to Florida in 1979 and eventually made Citrus County her home in the early 1990’s after relocating from Pinellas County, FL. Mary continued to give back to her community and enjoyed volunteer work. She was very involved with hospice services and worked with their legacy program. Mary also enjoyed attending theater productions and musicals. She attended many of the community theater productions at the ARTS Center in Lecanto, FL.

Those left to mourn Mary’s passing include her children: Elizabeth Chadwell of Floral City, FL and William Snedden of Sarasota, FL; and her grandchildren: Jonathan Chadwell and Quinn Snedden. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Tait Snedden, second husband, Lewis Gibson and third husband, Lawrence Call.
