Ellen May Berger, 82, of Inverness, FL passed away on December 12, 2020 at Diamond Ridge Health and Rehab in Lecanto, FL. She was born to the late Harold and Alice (Appel) Sunkle on May 20, 1938 in Baroda, MI. She married her beloved husband, Dennis, on October 24th, 1977 and was a homemaker for many years. She and her husband moved to Citrus County 30 years ago from Blissfield, MI. She loved puzzles, cross stitching, collecting blue glass, playing Eucher with her family, and most especially, being with and spending time with her husband whom she loved dearly.
Along with her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her five sisters. Those left to cherish her memory are her spouse of 43 years, Dennis; her two sons, Bob Butts (Michelle) of Ohio and Duane “Buddy” Butts (Chris) of Orland, FL; her step children, John Berger of Adrian, MI and Denise Berger James of Adrian, MI; her four brothers, Harold “Bud”, Richard “Dick”, Darcy, and Don; her cherished numerous grandchildren; and her adored two great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life is being held at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Inverness, FL on Monday, January 4th, 2021 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Darrell Reneau officiating. Friends and family are welcome to gather beginning at 2:00 PM until the hour of service. Cremation with Care is under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
