Janet M. Dyer, 90 of Inverness, FL passed away August 29th 2018 at her residence in Inverness. She was born in Athens, PA on April 14, 1928 to the late Freedman and Helen (Koons) Blough. Janet is remembered as a delightfully humorous, sweet and loving person who arrived in this area from Endicott, NY in 1972 and worked as an office manager before retiring from Dr. Dan Montgomery of West Coast Eye Institute in Inverness, FL. Janet attended Grace Bible Fellowship. Among her hobbies, Janet enjoyed sewing as well as playing a sometimes heated game of Dominos and Triominos with some of her dear friends every week (of course, no wagering ever allowed). She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Merritt C. Dyer in 2014. She is survived by her sons Richard Dyer and his wife Judy of Memphis, TN, Robert Dyer and his wife Margo of Jacksonville, FL, Ronald Dyer and his wife Paula of Orlando, FL and Randy Dyer and his husband Ricky of Inverness, FL, her sister Nellie Victoria Goudey of Charlotte, North Carolina and Jane Southall with her husband Jimmy of Jetersville, Virginia, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Janet’s remains will be laid to rest next to her husband’s at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Private cremation arrangements are under the care of Chas E. Davis Funeral Home of Inverness.
