Russell Alfred Carlson, 94, of Beverly Hills, FL passed away December 27, 2017 under the care of Citrus Pines Adult Family Care in Beverly Hills, FL. He was born in Hartford, CT on September 7, 1923 to the late Alfred B. and Sophie (Grimm) Carlson. Russell was a revenue officer for the U.S. Government, and a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. Russell arrived in this area in 1994, coming from Middletown, CT and was a Jehovah’s Witness by faith. He loved playing tennis, chess, and bicycling. He enjoyed gardening, and grew his own fruits and vegetables, and loved animals, especially dogs. Russell was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Carol M. Carlson, and one son, William Carlson. He is survived by his daughter, Roberta Salonia and her husband Mark of Gulf Shores, AL, and son Thomas Carlson; William’s wife,daughter-in-law Nancy Carlson; 5 grandchildren, Lindsey, Brittany, Christy, Alex, and Joey; and 4 great-grandchildren.
