Mary A Howard

Mary Ann Howard, 70, of Floral City, FL passed away September 3, 2016 at her residence under the care of her family and Hospice of Citrus & The Nature Coast. She was born in Albany, GA on August 27, 1946, to the late James and Mildred (Hayes) Luke. Mary was an office manager for a pump and electric motor repair company. She came from the DeLand area, and had vacationed here since 2004 until she became a permanent resident in April of last year. She was Baptist by faith and very active as a Beta Sigma Phi Sorority member. Mary enjoyed listening to “The Moody Blues” and “The Eagles” bands, loved boating, fishing, reading, and was an excellent cook. She thoroughly enjoyed her retirement. Mary was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Howard in, 1998.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory is her loving husband of 35 years, Charles B. Howard of Floral City; her daughter, Tracy Allen Segura and her husband Marcelo of San Anselmo CA; 3 brothers, James Luke, Ormond Beach, FL; Harry and Larry Luke, both of Orlando, FL; 2 grandchildren, Kaianne and Gianni Segura

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Wednesday, September 7th at 1:00 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL., with Pastor Ledford Hodges of the New Testament Baptist Church officiating. The family will be receiving friends in visitation at the funeral home at 12 noon until the hour of service. Mary’s urn will be laid to rest next to her son Christopher in DeLand, FL at a later date.
