Franklin D. Boles, Age 82, died May 24th, 2016. He was born in Florala, Alabama to J.C. and Ada Boles. He moved to Citrus County in 1971 after retiring with 20 years in the Navy as “Senior Chief Radioman”. His work and appearance in Navy was rated as “Exemplary”. Served on USS Botetourt, Navradsta, USS Spiegel Grove, Phiboptraulant, Navamphibase, USS Arneb, Comphibron Six, and FAW-5, NAS, NORVA. He worked and volunteered as D.J. on christian radio for 17 years and served as choir director and Sunday School Superintendent at his church. He also worked for Withlacoochee Electric in Crystal River as Senior Warehouseman for 27 years.
He was a loving, kind, and generous man who always worked hard and helped others. Frank always had time to play sports with his kids or give advice.
He was preceded in death by son Dennis Boles in Kuwait and daughter, Cynthia Boles. He is survived by his wife, Diane; sisters Helen, Gale, and Barbara; brothers, Larry and Jimmy Ray Boles. His children, daughter Linda, and son Frank Boles, Jr.; step children, Kathy Stanfield, Bill Mitchell, Darryl Mitchell, and Darrin Mitchell; numerous nieces & nephews; 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; first wife, Mary Boles.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 31st at 11:00 AM from the Homosassa Church of God with Pastor Ron Hooper officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at The Fountains Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Chas E Davis Funeral Home of Inverness is assisting the family.
