Basil L. Rose, 96, Lecanto, FL on May 18, 2016 at Gulfside Hospice in Hudson, FL. Mrs Rose was born Aug 17, 1919 in Davis County, IA to the late Frank and Cora (Coop) Rose and moved here in 2012 from Mt. Pleasant, IA. H was a retired Distribution Manager for the Colonial Baking Company in Mt. Pleasant.
He is survived by 3 children, Roger Rose of Wickenburg, AZ; Shirley Knorr of Pleasant Plains, IL; Donna Simmons, Lecanto, FL ; his sister, Doris Huten, Ottumwa, IA; 6 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren and 3 step great great grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be in Mt. Pleasant, IA under the care of Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home assisted the family locally.
