Evelyn A Elmore

EVELYN ANN ELMORE, age 82, Homosassa, died July 6, 2015 under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus and Nature Coast staff. Evelyn was born on January 27, 1933 in Ishpeming, MI to the late Jarl and Martha (Holma) Pontti. Evelyn worked at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI as a Registered Nurse. She was very artistic, enjoyed making baskets, and was an excellent seamstress who made all of her children’s clothing. She was an avid reader and excellent cook. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 60 years, George R. Elmore; sons Paul (Denise) Elmore, Sugarland, TX, Philip Elmore, Trenton, MI; daughters Cynthia (Barry) Steele, Brownstown, MI and Teresa (James) Ortner, Chandler, AZ; brothers Donald (Jeanne) Pontti, Kodiak, AK and James (Judy) Pequet, Spring Arbor, MI; sister Lorraine K. Kreske, Jonesville, MI; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer, Scott, Sarah, Jimmy, Jake, Noelle and Jaycie and three great-grandchildren, Adrian, Ashton and Reese. A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. The family will greet friends in visitation from 3-5 PM on Thursday, July 9, 2015. Memorial donations are requested to Hospice of Citrus and Nature Coast, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464 in lieu of flowers.
