Hans A Waldraff

Hans August Waldraff, 83, of Inverness, Florida, passed away April 16, 2015 at the Citrus County Hospice House in Lecanto, FL. Hans was born June 21, 1931 in Pforzheim, Germany, the youngest of four siblings, to Karl and Walburga Waldraff. He immigrated to North America as a tool and die maker, settling in Elkhart, Indiana for a long and successful career in tooling engineering and manufacturing. Hans served our country in the U.S. Army, 51st Infantry, 4th Armored Division, as a tank mechanic during the Korean War. He was an accomplished soccer player, coach and state referee. Hans enjoyed history, yard work, landscaping, golf and spending time with his family and making them laugh. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and the Inverness Golf and Country Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Hildegard Waldraff of Inverness, Florida; his daughter Cindy Waldraff of Tampa, Florida; his son Chris Waldraff and wife Heather Waldraff of Savannah, Georgia and by his granddaughter Charlotte Waldraff of Savannah, Georgia. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 10:00 AM from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Fr. Tim Cummings, Celebrant. Military Honors will follow. Friends and neighbors are invited to a reception at the family’s home afterward, from 1 to 3 PM. Burial will be at a later date in the Florida National Cemetery. Memorial donations are requested to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464 in lieu of flowers. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
