Robert Stanley Norman, age 78, Inverness, died March 28, 2015 at Arbor Trail Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. Robert was born on March 22, 1937 in New Rochelle, NY to the late Joseph and Anna Norman. He served our country in the United States Air Force as a pilot, retiring with the rank of Major; a career that he truly loved. He also served in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxillary in Mayport, FL, achieving the rank of Captain and always enjoyed being on the water, boating and fishing. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in his yard. He was a devoted father and husband and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Mary Frances Norman; sons Robert Scott Norman, both of Inverness; Richard (Suzanne) Norman, IN; daughter Karen Perry, St. John, FL; his brother Joseph E. Norman, Lake Jessup, FL. A graveside military committal service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 2:30 PM at Florida National Cemetery. Friends are invited to join the family in procession to the cemetery at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory at 1:30 P.M.
