Thomas Harris III

THOMAS HARRIS, III, age 84, Homosassa, died January 3, 2015 at his residence. Thomas was born on August 14, 1930 in Amarillo, TX to the late Thomas Harris, II and Lucille E. (King) Harris. He was Vice President of turf equipment and golf cart sales for G.L. Cornell Co in Gaithersburg, MD for 37 years. Thomas served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Thomas was a member of Elks Lodge #2983 and past president of Maryland Club. After his retirement and relocation to Citrus County in 1993, he became a parishioner of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church and was active in several ministries. He enjoyed traveling with his late wife Jeanne and gardening. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Linda Simon and her husband William of Steubenville, OH and Martha Harris, Boca Raton, FL, a brother David Harris and his wife Norma of Daytona Beach, FL; three grandchildren Joshua, Christopher and Nicholas and three great-grandchildren Ramzie, Izic and Sasha. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Jane Harris, his second wife of 40 years, Jeanne Harris and a brother Jay Harris. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Crystal River. Inurnment will follow at a later date privately at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
