Rodney E. Mathis, 70, of Inverness, Florida passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Arbor Trail Rhab & Nursing, Inverness. He was born on September 8, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Ray and Mary A. (Toland) Mathis. Rodney arrived in this area twenty years ago, coming from Darlington, Pennsylvania, and was a ten year employee for Dyna-Body gymnasium in Inverness. He enjoyed helping people and being very supportive to both friends and family. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Mathis of Inverness. Other survivors include two sons, Michael Mathis of Ocala, Florida, and Bobby Mathis of Jacksonville, Florida; two daughters, Judy (Steven) Phouts and Cathy Horton, both of Ruffs Dale, Pennsylvania; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Private arrangements are under the direction of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
