THOMAS WILLIAM HAYES, age 66, Floral City, died February 20, 2012 at Citrus Memorial Hospital. A Gathering of Remembrance will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 12:30 P.M. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. Inurnment will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with military honors. Thomas was born on September 21, 1945 in Queens, NY to the late William B. and Clothilde Hayes and relocated to this area four years ago from Palm Bay, Florida. He served our country in the United States Air Force. Thomas was employed as an outside salesman in the steel and industrial supplies industry. He enjoyed traveling to Tampa Bay Downs for horse racing, fishing and riding his motorcycle. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Hayes, Floral City; three sons Brian (Macarana) Hayes, Jerez, Spain, Michael (Theresa) Hayes, Long Beach, CA and Kevin (Jill) Hayes, Melbourne, FL, two brothers, William (Mary) Hayes, Gray Court, S.C. and Michael (Ilse) Hayes, Richmond, VA and a sister Nisanto (Robert) Kane, West Simsbury, CT, five grandchildren Jake, Miles, Corale, Alison and Brianna. The family requests donations in Thomas\’ memory to St. Jude Children\’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in lieu of flowers.
