Roscoe Harold McLeod, 74, Inverness, died Aug 21, 2011 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Gainesville. Harold was born in Inverness, one of 12 children, to the late Oscar Penn McLeod and Mayo Artie (Reams) McLeod on April 26, 1937. He retired from United Telephone of Florida as a design engineer with 23 years of service and served our country in the U.S. Army. Harold graduated from Citrus High School, class of 55, where he played football and baseball.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Maryann (Angsten) McLeod; 4 children, Deborah L. McLeod, Lake Panasoffkee, Patrick McLeod, Inverness, Karen (Lloyd) Woolsey, Oswego, IL, and Philip (Jeannie) McLeod, Brandon, FL; 4 brothers, Ray Hall McLeod, Longwood, FL, C.J. McLeod, Weeki Wachee, FL, Terry Lee McLeod, Gainesville, FL, Joseph F. McLeod, Inverness; 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, James Reams McLeod, Oscar Penn McLeod, Jr., Ernest Myers McLeod, Grace Eloise McLeod Gable, Harvey Warren McLeod, Berta Kate McLeod Edson, and William Herman McLeod.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Aug 25th at 2:00 PM from Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.
